What does my child need to bring for preschool?
A backpack, indoor runners (velcro-style) kept in the backpack, and a change of clothing kept in a bag.

Does my child have to be toilet trained?
It’s preferred that your child is toilet trained, but this is not a requirement. If your child is not, please have someone on standby who can come change a badly soiled diaper if we call.

Can anyone attend Happy Hearts Preschool?
Yes! Happy Hearts Preschool is a ministry of Westhill Park Baptist Church. You do not need to attend the church to register or participate.

Do you have snack time at Happy Hearts Preschool?
Due to the number and variety of allergies among students, we do not have a snack time during class. Treats are provided at special events throughout the school year.

What if I am early or late dropping off or picking up my child?
Arrival: Enter through the northwest entrance. Please bring your child to the door no more than 5 minutes before class starts, as the door will not open until then. A teacher will welcome your child and bring them into the preschool.
Pick-up: Please be prompt. If anyone other than a parent/guardian is picking up your child, the teacher must be notified in advance by a parent/guardian. If you expect to be late, please call the office to inform your child’s teacher.

What will happen if my child acts up in class?
If a child is having difficulty controlling their behaviour, we redirect with positive alternatives. The teacher will speak with the child privately to explain the issue. If the behaviour persists, the child may be directed to an individual activity. If it continues, parents will be informed. Prolonged behaviour such as crying, tantrums, kicking, or biting will also prompt parent notification. Depending on severity or if it’s a recurring safety issue, a child may be dismissed from the program — this decision is made in discussion with parents, with the Preschool teacher making the final call.
